Germany, May 30, 2024 – Kontron, a leading global provider of Inflight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFE&C) solutions and Hughes Network Systems, an EchoStar company (Nasdaq: SATS), today announce their collaboration to enhance in-flight connectivity for airline customers. This leverages Kontron's open IFE&C avionics platforms to deploy the groundbreaking Hughes JUPITER™ powered In-Flight Connectivity services.
The Hughes JUPITER fleet of satellites promises to transform the in-flight experience for passengers across the Americas, and worldwide with partner satellites. By integrating with Kontron's Ace Flight™ Server, Cab-n-Connect™ A201 CWAP, Ace Flight™ 4783 Dual Modem Manager (MODMAN), and other products from Kontron, Hughes can provide best of class IFE&C solutions to the airlines and aims to deliver seamless connectivity that meets the evolving demands of modern travelers.
This collaboration between Hughes and Kontron represents a significant advancement in satellite communications and availability of these proven platforms in the commercial avionics sector for the airlines. The integration of the JUPITER 3 modem into Kontron's Ace Flight 4783 MODMAN is a testament to the shared commitment to innovation and ability to respond to the evolving needs of the aviation industry.
