Kontron Launches the EvoTRAC S1901 Platform to Enhance Heavy-Duty Equipment

New EvoTRAC S1901 platform to provide unmatched flexibility and built-in artificial intelligence (AI) in a single IP67 enclosure

Augsburg, November 3, 2020 – Kontron, a leading global provider of IoT/Embedded Computing Technology (ECT), today announces the launch of its EvoTRAC S1901 in-vehicle platform designed to accelerate the deployment of demanding applications for heavy-duty mobile machinery in construction, agriculture, trucking and mining industries.

With an increasing need for versatility, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) suppliers of industrial equipment require adaptable, intelligent solutions that can be adjusted based on highly customized demand yet can survive in most extreme environments. Kontron fills the industry void by providing modular AI-optimized systems, designed to fuel GPU-accelerated applications from a compact, ruggedized form factor.
Featuring the latest Kontron COM Express® basic COMe-bBD7 Type 7 module equipped with a high performance Intel® Xeon® D-1500 processor, the EvoTRAC S1901 boasts high-capacity storage, built-in GPS, rich I/O interfaces and multiple expansion slots for GPU/FPGA accelerators to facilitate processing-intensive applications such as edge analytics, machine learning and predictive maintenance, among others. Optional add-on features include fan-cooled or liquid-cooled chassis, a microcontroller for functional safety, dual MXM GPUs and WiFi or LTE for enhanced connectivity.
