Simplify your datacenter network infrastructure with next gen spine-leaf DC architecture

As bandwidth demands continue to rise from end-user video, data center virtualization and big data analytics, switches will require an ever-increasing increase in performance, cost-efficiency and scalability that current 10G ports are not able to provide.

The advent of 25GbE and 100GbE leaf-spine, switches is leading the charge to future proof data centers that need a larger capacity, more performance, and higher reliability. The Kontron SYMKLOUD Series of CN100x TOR switches simplify datacenter network infrastructure by supporting a range of automation, orchestration and extensive datacenter-ready features.

The CN100x Series support advanced dual-protocol IPv4, IPv6 technology, numerous energy-efficient and environmental friendly features, and is available with Open Network Install Environment (ONIE) to streamline the installation of network operating systems, including the PicOS NOS from Pica8.

The CN100-3232 & CN100-0654 are designed for next generation Spine-Leaf architectures that dramatically enhance East-West workloads in the data center.

IPv6 Solution
Both switches fully support IPv6 routing protocols including IPv6 static routes, OSPFv3, BGP4+,
PIM; and, support for extensive transition technologies from IPv4 to IPv6, and dual stack IPv4, IPv6
management function.

Virtualization
Hardware-based VXLAN/NVGRE is supported for scaled-out virtualization across L3 subnets up to 16.7M possible virtual networks. To reduce the network OpEx, an integrated OpenStack Neutron plug-in enables customers to deploy their VMs in minutes instead of hours.

OpenFlow Technology
As an open architecture the CN100x switches enable flexible software coding and software-defined networks supporting the OpenFlow protocol. This accelerates network service roll-outs and great infrastructure elasticity.

Optimized Datacenters
FIP snooping technique provides switches with strengthened provisioning of optical channels and more successful logins, without involving the FCoE optical channel architecture. CN technique is applied to minimize endpoint congestion caused by slow message transmission rate. PFC ensures transmission of high-priority or delay-sensitive traffic, ETS guarantees the quality of traffic with different service levels, DCBX protocol allows end equipment to exchange performance parameters during link build up, such as support for PFC. All these features ensure zero packet loss within the datacenter, satisfying FC storage business requirements for high performance computing with low latency and no packet loss.

Automation
Network automation has fast become a default requirement for large-scale cloud infrastructure providers to better cope with managing the increase in deployed equipment. The CN100x switches support auto installation and integration of orchestration tools such as Chef and Puppet for more seamless provisioning.

Security Management
Includes support for AAA and RADIUS authentication; static or dynamic binding of user identifying elements such as: user account, IP, MAC, VLAN, and port; provides increased ACL control logic by supporting a large capacity inbound and outbound port ACL; and, supports VLAN based ACL issuing, thus avoids wasting ACL resources and simplifies the user configuration process. This is complemented with complete security strategies to effectively prevent various attacks, such as: DHCP starvation, DHCP request broadcast, ARP broadcast, ARP spoofing, and DHCP spoofing.

Reliability
Designed in are multiple layers of reliable protection at both hardware and link levels. The CN100x TOR switches include overcurrent, overvoltage, and overheating protection technologies, plus hot-swappable dual power supplies, dual fans, and connector boards.

IPMI Management
The SYMKLOUD CN100-3232 switch is equipped with an optional BMC module that supports out-of-band IPMI capability. This enables remote hardware status monitoring, remote inventory control, power control, and firmware upgrades.

Network Management
Both the CN100-3232 and CN100-0654 switches support extensive types of management ports, such as Console, out-of-band management port, USB port; support CLI commands, TELNET and FTP configuration; and support for SNMPv1/V2/v3.
