At the field, or edge level, data is collected by industrial computers, e.g. by gateways, which process, filter, analyze and act on these data in real-time right at the device.

Edge, fog and cloud applications demand increasing computing power. The interfaces to sensors or machines often require non-standard solutions. Especially in smaller machines, space is limited or restricted in some dimension and need a special solution.

Today, the connection from the sensor device to the embedded cloud takes place via real-time data communication, on sensor and edge level - for example Industrial Ethernet or fieldbuses - and gateways , which provide the transformation of real time data into the informational area.

The industrial-grade KBox B-203-RPL Box PC is particularly suitable for cost-sensitive applications without having to compromise on long-term availability or reliability. This is made possible by a newly designed mechanical concept that focuses on flexibility, cost-effectiveness and sustainability.

At the heart of the KBox B-203-RPL is the new mITX motherboard K3836-Q, designed and manufactured in Germany, which supports the latest Intel® Core™ i3/i5/i7/i9 processors up to the 14th generation, as well as the Intel® 300T desktop processor for entry-level users. The current 14th generation processors have up to 24 cores (8-Performance Cores and 16-Efficient Cores), which are based on the Intel® Performance Hybrid Architecture. This makes it possible to implement performance-hungry applications in the control cabinet such as high-end image processing, artificial intelligence or machine learning.

In terms of I/O and expansion flexibility, the KBox B-203-RPL offers numerous interface options that are important for industrial use, including 10x USB ports, including 6x USB3.2 incl. 1x USB-C, 2x GbE ports, including 1x 2.5GbE, 4x DisplayPorts and a serial interface (RS232). Furthermore, fast wireless connections can be enabled via WiFi 6. For different applications in the industrial sector, customers can choose between 24 VDC or 230 VAC with external PSU for the voltage input.

The thermal concept of the system is based on a low-noise fan, which guarantees trouble-free operation at temperatures of up to +45 °C and thus enables continuous, high-availability use around the clock.
